2016-17 Cake Shows

Start marking your calendar for next year's cake events. I have listed below 2016-17 cake trade shows and competitions that you might want to attend. As usual, I will be updating this event main page as more dates become available.

For those of you who don't know what happens at a cake show, I will fill you in. A cake show generally is comprised of four activities: cake competition, cake decorating classes, cake demonstrations and a vendor showcase. There is usually a general admission fee that will allow you to look at all of the displayed cakes, cake demonstrations, and vendor showcases.

If you want to attend a class, sign up early because the classes will fill up fast. This will be your chance to learn from an industry expert! Classes are offered for both beginner and advanced sugar artists. With the class fee, all supplies will be provided, but I would suggest to bring an apron, camera, and a notepad. As you make your masterpiece you can take pictures so you will have a visual of how it is done when you get home. The instructor will also provide you with written instructions.

Anyone who enjoys making decorated cakes can enter the cake competition. Entry categories will range from the professional to non-professional to children. The entries are judged by educators of the confectionery arts. Prizes are given to the winning entries.
